Cycling road race, Olympics 2012 preparation

Apparently there is going to be an big athletics event just up the road from Wapping next year.

The other Saturday I went to the Serpentine in Hyde Park to photograph the rehearsal for the open water swimming event which I found to be really dull.

Then on the Sunday I wandered over to The Mall to see if the rehearsal for the cycling road race would be any more stimulating.

It was!

The rehearsal was in the form of the  140km London-Surrey Cycle Classic road race,  the biggest Olympics 2012 test event so held in London at that point.

Living in Wapping allowed me to cover the start then go home for lunch while the riders zoomed around Surrey then come back to Constitution Hill for the finish.

I call it energy conservation.
